In programming languages such as Perl and Java, the '::' that is often used to separate a class or instance name from a method name. When reading code aloud, it's shorter than saying 'colon colon'.
When reading the code 'Foo::bar()' aloud, say 'Foo fourspot bar' rather than 'Foo colon colon bar'.
