the state of being super hungry when there's nothing available to eat but lots of food you don't feel like eating.

"Man, I'm hungry! What do we have in the house?"

"Oh, there's pasta, soup, a whole loaf of bread -"

"Nah, that all sounds terrible. God, I'm first-world starving!"
