While someone who is strictly asexual may have no sexual or romantic attraction to anyone regardless of gender, a straight-a is someone who identifies as asexual but may manifest romantic or other nonsexual attraction to members of the opposite sex.

Whereas sexual orientation exists along a continuum of heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual, sex drive also exists along a continuum.
