The condition that new couples often exhibit in relation to friendships. This often includes canceling plans, ditching early, not drinking, etc. Often, it gets blamed on the new person, though the friend is usually equally at fault for giving in and ditching fun plans with friends.
"Hey, is Jason coming out tonight?" .... "nah, he just texted, he's got couple syndrome, he and Sarah are staying in again"
