The act of buying and eating food on your way home only for yourself, and even finishing it in your car in the driveway, in order to get back at your wife for never cooking for you. It is not known for sure if Lester did this out of spite, or only necessity.

In modern dialect, it is normally used with full disclosure. For instance, if nobody will be home, or your wife has already eaten. In this case, you would just tell them "I will just Lester something" or she will tell you "You may want to just Lester something."
My wife never cooks dinner, or she only makes dinner for her and the kids before I get home and it's all gone, so I will just Lester something on the way home.
