Awkward Fox

In folklore, foxes are tricksters and manipulators. In addition, foxes hunt alone and live alone, keeping their den neat and tidy. Awkward Fox is an expression that describes a person who is socially awkward, but is able to hide their awkwardness. A person who is an awkward fox doesn't appear socially awkward on the surface, but once inside his/her den, the person's awkwardness and peculiarity is apparent.
Nibu seems like an extrovert, but he's an awkward fox.
David really likes this woman- he's an awkward fox when they speak on the phone.
