hmm... I first heard this word being used by a Brit in a youtube video. (Revelation River Ministries)

I think it's a real street term in England.

It's a good word to describe someone when you hear someone expose something evil, then defend that same thing in the next sentence.

"You're defending what you just said was no good. You're being a backstepper!"
