Layla

Layla is a bright sunset over a black city skyline. She is a red corvette at the beach. Snow cones at night, palm trees and bath & body works. Flavored smoke puffs, silver rings and neon signs. Of the time I’ve known her, I’ve known it all. We can speak in a language that is only understandable to the two of us. She is my person on this earth, my companion, my paladin. She is the one person I can really truly say is my friend. We brawl and bicker, but I would tear the world apart to breathe air with her. My sister by bond, not by blood. My soulmate until the end. Lovely, lovely, Layla.
