Literally means "young men" in Arabic, but is commonly used to refer to "the boys". In Dubai it is used to refer to your boys, or eg. homies, gang, posse, clique. It is used also to refer to the people who will back you up in a fight.
"Ohh you wanna mess around now? I'll bring my shabaab!!" or "Don't fuck with me, i know half the shabaab of Dubai!"

Get the bagshot mug.Following the popularity of a flash-oriented website called Fanta Shokata, which featured clips of East Indian movies which u can add your own subtitles and give it your own meaning. In one clip, a character says "Ek Dum, Barabir?" Which sounded like he was saying "Whats up, Barabir?" or something similar. So it is semi-popularly used to say hey or whats up among Montreal youth.
