A member of the Democratic Party who generally is pro-labor, opposed to neoliberal policies, and believes wealthy people wield too much political and economic power. Supports strong social programs reminiscent of the New Deal Democrats of the 1930s. Name derived from similarity in political ideals to U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders.

Berniecrats are running on progressive platforms all over the country.
