Labubu

Labubu is the babbling form of labuyu, or “love you.”

A parent leans close to their baby and says, “Can you say love you?”
The baby smiles, tries to copy the sound, and answers, “La… bu… bu!”

From then on, the parents start calling the baby’s version “labubu.”
