A word NOT ALWAYS USED BY MALES, but
1.usually to fill a lull in conversation.
2.used in place of "hmm".
3.A suitable answer to any question.

1. "...hrm."
2. "Do you want to go to the zoo?"
"... hrm."
3. "What is the air speed velocity of a swallow?"
"... hrm"
