N. The act of criticizing or fighting injustices in distant lands, yet ignoring injustices in one's own nation or local community.

Term used frequenlty 1960s and 1970s, notably by American journalists. Definition derived from work of media scholar Carolyn Martindale.
Bill: I think I'm going to join the Peace Corps. There are too many hungry and poor people in Asia.

Ted: You're from Detroit? The people there aren't good enough for your help?

Bill: It's not the same.
