A Deist is any person who believes that God created the universe and dissociated himself from it. They do not believe in divine intervention of in organized religion, such as church gatherings. Some do not believe that Jesus is the son of God, but merely a prophet; however they are still considered Christians, because they do believe somewhat in the Holy Bible. They also believe in the power of science, and if science and scripture contradict one another, they usually lean towards the science aspect because of factual data. The most notable Deist to date are Thomas Jefferson as well as other U.S. Founding Fathers, and rumored John Locke.
"I have never seen a church for Deist."
"And you never will."
"The United States Constitution is based on Holy scripture."
"Only if you consider logic and science a religion, because that is what our foundings fathers believed in."
