Similar to a shindig, a "shimdig" is a party of transender individuals.

Metry

Common name for Metairie, LA in the local slang. Thought of as a safe place when compared to neighboring New Orleans. Although if you really try, getting shot is also possible in "Metry."

I live in Metry, it's safe here.
