Strawberry Spring 

A false spring or unusually warm spell of weather in winter, similar to an Indian summer. The title of a short story about a campus serial killer by Stephen King who may have invented the phrase.

Before reading "Strawberry Spring" I used to enjoy unseasonably warm winter weather. Now I imagine a psycho killer lurking in the warm night air.

Someone left the cake out in the rain. 

Used to refer to an eccentric person or idea. A reference to the song "MacArthur Park," one of oddest songs ever written.

John: My next door neighbor thinks little green men control the government through mind control.
