Steinered

To accidentally lure others into believing something monumental has just occurred, when in fact that which has occurred is quite routine or mundane. Named after Los Angeles Dodgers radio announcer Charley Steiner, who thinks every ball hit into the sky is a goddam grand slam.

“I thought that ball that Cody hit into the night was a sure goner, but when I saw the outfielder catch it in the shallow outfield, I realized I Steinered myself.”
