A piece of coral music in which the text feels very crisp, and notes become inherently short and detached due to a vast number of consonants, especially of the unpitched variety. Opposite of illumu.

adj.

A piece of choral music in which the text flows off the tongue like water in a stream due to a large number of vowels and eliding consonants.

Stephen Paulus' Pilgrim's Hymn is a very illumu piece.
