Batafloni or "μπαταφλόνι" is a special purpose table specifically designed to accommodate the backgammon needs of a sailing vessel. Most bataflonies are typically located at the stern of a ship and are made of wood. Like most tables that are onboard vessels, the batafloni is a fixed table and it cannot be moved. The top of the batafloni has engraved in it the backgammon design so sailors during high seas can continue playing backgammon.
