Schrödinger's Ball

Ball knowledge suspended in a superposition in the collective conscience of humanity between common and elite.

To the individual, ball is naturally in the elite state of ones mind, but once it has been observed (i.e. learned) it collapses into the common state.

In this way the ball knowledge is both common and elite simultaneously until an individual has been observed. In which case the knowing will declare it common, and the unknowing will declare it elite.
Person 1. "common man that's common ball knowledge, everyone knows that"

Person 2. "You only think that because you know it yourself and learned it yesterday. It's Schrödinger's Ball."
