crypto-lesbian

A lesbian who decided to keep her coming out strictly for herself and her intimates. Social conformity is not the only reason for the crypto-lesbian option. The thrill of dissimulating one's real nature to the social milieu can be a major incentive for such an option as well. Very often a crypto-lesbian is actually a discrete bisexual.

mixed up

A synonym for "being or turning bisexual" or "getting curious towards one's other sexual side". That term is derogatory and describes bisexuality from the unilateral point of view of an exclusive homosexual and/or heterosexual stand.

Karla is not completely a lesbian. She is rather... mixed up.

Maybe she is bisexual?

An homosexual actress who, in 1997 managed to play the role of an homosexual woman who decides to stop to be a crypto-lesbian. Both the character and the actress ended up coming out simultaneously... and on National TV.

Thank to people like Ellen DeGeneres, we will come to the plain understanding of the fact that a lesbian is just another ordinary person.
