A state that occurs in social situations involving two or mpre people in which one individual makes an awkward comment that causes all involved to cease conversing with one another.

As the awkward bubble spreads from the source (original speaker), it leaves more silent in its wake as the general feeling of discomfort reaches more and more individuals.
