Mercanti
An Italian last name that’s supposed to mean “strong merchant,” but somehow ended up branding a long line of people who would try to haggle with a self-checkout machine and still lose. Common traits include treating eye contact like a boss battle, rehearsing phone calls like they’re diffusing a bomb, and needing emotional backup to order food they already decided on. Allegedly descended from bold traders, but now more associated with negotiating against their own confidence and still giving up halfway through. If courage were currency, Mercanti would be that one account that gets declined for insufficient funds… on a free trial.
Mate, you spent 20 minutes psyching yourself up to ask for extra sauce and still walked away empty-handed—absolute Mercanti behavior
