cordillera

a system or group of parallel mountain ranges together with the intervening plateaux and other features, especially in the Andes or the Rockies.

Its situation near the high cordillera gives it a cold, changeable climate.

tiger high

commonly used to refer to the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University). Generally the quality of education being considered so poor that Memphis residents regard the UofM as little more than high school part 2.
