was the generalsecretary of the USSR. He was already elected, when Lenin was still alive and they had a good relationship. After Lenin had tons of strokes, Stalin was chosen to look after Lenin and keep him away from politics (due to his health) At the same time Hitler was preparing for a huge War and Stalin knew, that Hitler would betray the agreement between the USSR and Germany. Joseph Stalin industrialised the Soviet Union and made it a super power, of the proletariat. Leo Trotsky wanted to be the Generalsecretary and started plotting against Joseph Stalin. As the USSR was sanctioned, it was forced to look after itself. This led to a famine, because most of the farmers aka (Kulaks), rather sold their grain on a black market, than handing it over to the Goverment, to distribute it equally. Later Kulaks started burning down the fields. This made Stalin angry and he sent them to the Gulag.
Even though Stalin was democratically elected, Trotsky claimed, right after Lenins death, that Lenin chose him as successor. This was completely undemocratic and Joseph Stalin learned, that Trotsky and his complicities terrorised the soviet population and spread lies against him. Later Trotsky was exiled and as he continued plotting and spreading lies, he well deserved was icepicked, by an NKVD Agent. Now Joseph Stalin is used as an complete symbol of hate and Boogeyman, to spread propaganda against communists. "Joseph Stalin stopped Japan, from attacking the USA."
"Through days dark and stormy where Great Lenin lead us
Our eyes saw the bright sun of freedom above
And Stalin our leader with faith in the people,
Inspired us to build up the land that we love."
