An Obari Workout is what happens when a bunch of super robots get redesigned by Hirotoshi Sano’s or Masami Obari’s own strong involvement to look a lot more awesome on the screen.
Dangaioh is one of the first shows to be associated with the Obari Workout that still has awed fans to this day. So is Gundam Wing.

Kanadapunk

Kanadapunk is a hybridisation between Yoshinori Kanada’s multiple styles and various punk music subgenres, more often Garage Punk and Art Punk as well as Skate Punk and Street Punk.
Thank Hisashi Mori of the Hisashi Punch fame for the increasing the international scope of the Kanadapunk movement.

Obarism is the rather glamorous style of Wakame Shadows inspired Mecha shading done by Masami Obari.
Yousuke Kabashima coined the term Obarism to reference the kinds of gloriously glamorous shading done by his Mecha maestro of a friend Masami Obari.

A Fantaserye is a genre of Teleserye that usually gears towards people who enjoy public domain stories and fantasy themed folktales.
Holy Crap, who would’ve thought that a Fantaserye anthology for the kindergartener demographic starred a knockoff Tarzan as a guest character? Is that show Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko?

Menace Stu

A Menace Stu is a character who is a Gary Stu just on paper, yet remains far too overpowered for the nerves of many humans, including live action actors, to emulate, in real life.
Tarzan, being a true Menace Stu, has snowballed popular culture into what it is today. The same can be said for Luffy.

Robin Hoodwinking

Robin Hoodwinking refers to a type of visual effect where Theme Park versions of a character like Tarzan, Mowgli or Robin Hood come in to swing out, with each one on a rope disguised as a vine.
When Johnny Weissmuller’s take on Tarzan was a Pikachu level cash cow during the 1930s-50s, Mowgli and Robin Hood would only come fully into Hollywood by Robin Hoodwinking for budget and safety reasons.

A Commercial Rebel is someone who rebels against restrictive commercial interests, but is not quite a Commercial Menace in which he or she is still well meaning enough to be seen.
Many a Commercial Rebel, most famously the Studio Break camaraderie, have entered the anime industry during the early 1980s to mid 1990s.
