From a place of genuine depth, and originating from it simultaneously. A feeling that is not surface or performative but rooted, immersed in something, and arising from it at the same time. To express something having been understood and lived from the inside out, before it is named.

Where aside steps away from the surface, adepth steps beneath it. Aside is horizontal: a movement to the margin. Adepth is vertical: a movement into the root.

Formed from the prefix a- (on, in, at — as in aside, afloat, aground) + depth. Follows the same construction as aside: where aside means at the side, adepth means at the depth, from the depth. First written June 4 2026
