1. A hired thug or henchman... i.e. "Hired Muscle" ostensibly to intimidate an adversary/target...

2. In hockey, a minimally talented but very violent player who usually fights a lot. Less common in modern professional hockey due to rule changes.

In hockey, especially older times, a player who uses his stick as a weapon but fears fighting with his fists
