Trumped-up Charge

Named after President Trump, a Trumped-up charge is when an individual in a position of power insists that you belong in prison, despite the fact that they are the only one who believes it. The result of a Trumped-up charge is an outcry from their supporters, 24/7 News coverage on their side, and eventually a pretrial or trial loss. Commonly used as a political maneuvering tool to distract individuals from other colossal failures within then individual’s area of responsibility.

Did you hear about that Trumped-up charge last week? They tried to say that former Olympian vandalized the reflecting pool because the paint came off.
