Faturan

A term refers to an old phenol and formaldehyde based jewelry beads, sometimes wrongly referred to as vintage cherry amber bakelite. It is also a term referred wrongly to an Egyptian man who made this formula.
Prayer beads of the Ottoman Empire are made of faturan because faturan was invented during the late 1700's - which is a very long time before Bakelite appeared in the 40's
