When you turn on the tap too fast, and water (or whatever is in the cup/tap) spills over the side of the cup.

Jim: Ugh, I'm soaked.
Arran: What happened?
Jim: Turned on the tap too fast and then BAM! Schplick.
Arran: Wow... you need to be more careful.
