Ahnengeist

The spirit of one's future self, present in the moment, that

quietly knows the plans others hold for you will not come to

pass - watching with guilt, with tenderness, and from a slight

remove.

From German: ahnen (to sense, to have a premonition) + Geist

(spirit, ghost). Related to hiraeth and saudade.
She smiled as her boss mapped out her future at the company. She sat in quiet Ahnengeist - the ghost of her future self perched on her shoulder, already holding the secret that she would not stay
