Incorrect use of logic in a social situation. Named after the London ‘Waterloo’ train station, which is renowned for confusing passengers with its complex platform layout.
“Hey, I thought you said we were meeting on the platform?”
“I know, I was on the platform!”
“Which one?”
“The underground platform”
“Oh my, looks like you’ve been using Waterloo logic again”
