Someone who intentionally misrepresents what you said, builds the worst-possible strawman, then argues against that fake version like they just won the debate.
They know exactly what you meant.
They just want the cheap W and the moral high ground.
Origin:
“Mis” (misrepresent) + “-izzy” (from “dizzy” — because they spin reality until everyone else is dizzy).
Examples:
“so you’re saying we should…” (proceeds to bring up holocaust)
The guy that quotes you verbatim but adds paraphrases in brackets to change the meaning
