A papoose (from the Algonquian papoos, meaning "child") is an American English loanword whose present meaning is "a Native American child" (regardless of tribe) or, even more generally, any child, usually used as a term of endearment, often in the context of the child's mother. Usually it refers to a child strapped to a board used to carry it on the parent’s back.
Shamele Mackie, or Papoose is a rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He is of Liberian and Native American descent. He was given his name by his grandma Vivian because of his childhood resemblance to a Native American child.

A Papoose Board is a device commonly used to immobilize children for dental work, blood-drawing, and minor medical procedures. The child is placed on a flat board and wide fabric straps are wrapped around the upper body, middle body, and legs.

Get the Papoose mug.
A man or woman who marries a military member for the benefits, like getting access to the PX. It was her dream to go to that big PX in the sky.
Ex: Cox married his wife and joined the military for six years enlistment upon finding out she was pregnant, only to find out halfway through he was not the father of the child and she was a PX chaser and lied about the parentage to get the military benefits. Instead of wallowing in depression more now she got him into a human bondage contract and cheated on him and how the baby wasn’t his, he went to ten thousand won alley and celebrated being single.
