Used in reference to Germans ie on holiday when surrounded by Germans they can be referred to as Gerpsens in this way you can talk about them without their knowledge.

The bloody Gerpsens have nicked the sun-loungers again

Similar to "Snakes on a Plane" only not as life threatening

"Oh dear I'm late for work....frogs on a Zeppelin"

As oppose to:

"I just shot my foot off....Snakes on a muthafuckin Plane"
