Boston dozen

A quantity that is supposed to be twelve, but is uncertain due to the inebriated state of the counter. Originating from Boston, Massachusetts, where excessive alcohol consumption has rendered the local population incapable of accurately counting to twelve.

My buddy tried to count how many people were at the party, but he was three sheets to the wind and could only manage a Boston dozen.
