Get the Kapcai mug.A Malaysian slang term for step-through underbone motorcycles. Often used by teenage riders and carries the same meaning as Kapcai.
The term became popular after Chinese manufacturer SYM released their viral 175cc underbone model, SUPER MOPED 175i in 2018.
When mopeds were later targeted for regulatory bans in Malaysia, the model was renamed SYM VF3i to avoid confusion, but the slang lived on.
Today, “Super Moped” is commonly used by teenagers who grew up riding mopeds and are now old enough to ride underbone bikes.
In reality, mopeds are just a downgraded version of Kapcai but motorcycle brands keep using the term as a marketing buzzword to describe more modern and performance-oriented bikes.
