Ever have something good going and it all goes sideways? That's a Lort.

Person 1: "Did you ever finish reading that book I gave you?"
Person 2: "Yeah! It was pretty good up until it took a Lort and killed off the main character."
Person 1: "I thought you liked plot twists?!"
