Zemping

Dancefloor pick-up maneuver, popularized in East Germany during the 1980s. Involves shuffling sideways towards the target whilst turning the head side to side. Arms remain motionless and downward. If the target is interested, they turn to face the 'zemper' and, arms outstretched, motion him/her in by bending the arms upward at the elbows in time to the music track being played.
