Noun: Abbreviation for fairy god daughter. Written in lower-case so as not to confuse with FGD (Fairy God Dad). A fgd is not replacement for real family, but someone whose qualities make you wish she was your real daughter. They are a supportive, kind and giving friend. One is considered very lucky and fortunate to have a genuine fgd.
