Jua tatu's definitions
A catenulate relative is not related to you by blood but has the same relation to your blood relative as you do to that same blood relative. For example, the half-sibling of your half sibling is your catenulate sibling. Similarly, the cousin of your cousin is your catenulate cousin. From the root, catena, Latin for chain.
Cousin, that's your cousin on your daddy's side, right? He's cute and since he's only my catenulate relative, I'm going to ask him out!"
