She has appeared in numerous film, television, and stage prductions. She is perhaps best known for her leading lady turns in the African American romantic dramas Brown Sugar and Love & Basketball. Her combination of stunning beauty and "girl next door" approachability have made her one of the most popular Black actresses of her generation.
