Shaness

Used to express surprise or give emphasis, from Scottish ‘Cant’ which is a language sometimes spoken in the Gypsy traveller communities of Scotland. The word is still widely used in Caithness the most Northerly mainland County of Scotland, where many cant words are still in frequent use.
