chocolate city

chocolate city is a large city that has a predominantly black (african-american) population. georgians commonly refer to atlanta as 'chocolate city' because of white flight to the suburbs and the influx of minorities since the 1960s and 1970s. chocolate city also refers to the fact that most positions of power (mayor, police chief, etc.) are held by blacks.

even though i live in macon, i sometimes go to the chocolate city for fun. i can see a bulls game or go to the club.
