An Instant Buzz Kill, or IBK, occurs when someone or something effectively pours a bucket of ice over a situation in which one or more individuals are engaged in a positive experience.
We were all standing around the water cooler having a laugh when Larry from Accounts wandered over and shouted at us to 'shut the hell up'... IBK.
