two-by-four 

In western Canada this refers to any piece of lumber. It doesn’t have to be strictly two inches by four inches (Canada does use the imperial system in construction).
“We’re gonna build a treehouse. We just need some two-by-fours and a hammer and some nails.”

Wood Bug 

Another word for a rolly-polly or wood louse. Used sometimes in south-western BC, Canada including Vancouver island.
A: “That weird grey bug is a wood bug.” B: “Why is it called that?” A:“‘Cause it lives in wood, probably.”
