A brief but drastic drop in the value of stocks; can be triggered by investor fears or simple human error (adding a few too many zeros to the end of your stock sell).

Dude, you watchin CNBC??? The Dow's dropped 1000 points in like 5 minutes, but now it's back up again! It's a flash crash!
