Time taken off from work or other aspects of everyday life to fulfill a personal or social obligation, such as traveling home for a family event, attending a wedding or baby shower, or participating in a ceremonial gathering; a vacation undertaken because you’re obligated to be there.

I’m taking Friday off to fly home for my sister’s baby shower, but it’s definitely an oblication, not a vacation
