-in basketball when someone shoots and the shot goes no where near the basket, but the ball happens to fall into an open team member's hands, it's not quite a shot, but not quite a pass. it's a shass!

"Man, did you see Bryan's shass in that game? Lucky for him, Stephen got the ball and laid it in."
